As a lifelong residence of the Mesilla Valley, I am determined to make this community a better place for all. After graduating from Las Cruces High School in 2000, I embarked on the path of higher education with the opportunity of being a collegiate athlete. I attended Western New Mexico University located near the impeccable Gila National forest, where I played both the inside and outside linebacker positions. After a career ending injury, I returned to Las Cruces to finish my Degree in Criminal Justice at New Mexico State University. While working for the College of Agriculture and Home Economics as a student assistant for two great Deans, I saw the potential this mid-sized community had in becoming one of the greatest cities in the Southwest. Our diversification in our local economy as well as our Location along the I-10 and I-25 corridor makes this the hotspot for many distinct industries wanting to make a name for themselves in the Southwest. 350 days of sunshine makes this a great place to be.
