I have been in real estate three years now.
I have a BS in Family and Consumer Sciences from NMSU which only took me about 30 years, having graduated in 2004! I was named Rookie of the Year in 2005 in real estate and was a Million Dollar Producer that same year.
I don't really specialize in any area of the real estate business, but try and stay educated and updated on most phases of the market, especially if I have a customer in some aspect of the market I am not terribly familiar with.
In order to stay on top of the market, I try and keep abreast of the current listings and what areas of town are best for any potential customers I may be working with.
I am a member of the Chamber of Commerce. I have served the community for the past 5 years through SCORE (Senior Core of Retired Executives) by counseling entrepreneurs or people considering their own businesses. I feel that my experience in my own business (Renee's Bridal) has assisted me in serving customers in real estate. Both businesses are emotional businesses and require patience, understanding and tolerance.
My personal philosophy is to listen intently to my customers as they express their concerns and interests and then pursue those suggestions in their search for property.
To the outside world, real estate looks easy. It is quite the opposite. While I would not discourage anyone from entering real estate, I try and give them a realistic but positive picture of the industry in its present state.
